My Everyday Makeup Products ♡

Hey everyone! Since I'm new to blogging I thought I would share with you, the staple post that most beauty bloggers do in their blog lifetime, my everyday makeup products. I don't know about you, but I absolutely love reading/watching these types of posts either on blogs or on YouTube. I just find it so interesting to see what makeup products other people use in their daily life! It also expands my makeup vocabulary (is that a thing?) and also my makeup collection as usually after seeing these posts, I tend to pop down to the shops and fill up my basket with all the products that I don't already have.. I can't help myself. So I will be telling you about the products that I use on a day to day basis, and also giving mini reviews. Do you guys want to see full reviews on any of the products mentioned? Anyway, if you want to see what products I use in my daily makeup routine, please keep scrolling!

The first product that I use in my daily makeup routine is foundation. Recently I haven't been using a primer, mainly because I ran out of my Benefit Porefessional primer and haven't got around to buy it again.. Sad, sad times. Also, priming is a daily essential for me, my makeup stays put just fine without it. Anyway, back to foundation. The foundation that I have been using recently is the Nars Sheer Glow foundation. I decided I needed this product in my makeup collection after seeing all the positive reviews everywhere, and it was one of the best decisions of my life. I wear the shade 'Mont Blanc' which is the second lightest shade (the hard life of a pale person) and I have to say that Nars has an incredible shade selection when it comes down to their products, they literally have a colour for everybody! This foundation is creamy and glowy, like the name suggests, and just looks beautiful on the skin. It gives off medium coverage with just one layer but it is definitely build-able, depending on how you like your coverage. The only negatives about this product is the price, it retails for $70 here in Australia, and the fact that it doesn't have a pump applicator, although you can buy a pump for it but they are always sold out!

Next up, concealer. The lifesaver of makeup. The concealer I use, and need, daily is the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer. I use this product under my eyes and to help highlight my face. I wasn't really a big fan of concealer before buying this product, mainly because I couldn't find one that really covered up my under eye circles and one that didn't crease under my eyes. I wear the shade NW15, which is also perfect for highlighting (always pick a concealer that is a couple of shades lighter than your foundation for the perfect, natural highlight). I purchased this concealer after watching a few of my favourite Youtubers, Shannon Harris, Lauren Curtis and Karissa Pukas, rave on about how much they loved this product, so I knew I just had to try it out! And thank god I did. I have no faults about this product, it has a high enough coverage to hide under eye circles, it doesn't crease at all and stays put all day. The product retails for $32 here in Australia, which is a pretty affordable price for a high end concealer. What more could you want in a concealer?

Another one of my everyday makeup products is setting powder. I use two types of powder, one for most of my face and the other for setting under my eyes. The brand that I have recently started using is Elf. As this brand isn't accessible through stores in Australia, I ordered the two products from beautyjoint.com (super affordable makeup and international shipping!). After my much loved Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder shattered after a drop to the floor (don't you hate that?!) I decided to branch out and try a new powder. While browsing beautyjoint.com, I came across the Elf High Definition Powder and decided to give it a go. I also picked up the Elf High Definition Under Eye Setting Powder  after seeing Shaaanxo rave about it in a few of her tutorials. The HD powder is a white, loose, finely milled, translucent setting powder that sets and mattifies your face nicely. As the powder is translucent, it adds no more coverage to your makeup and doesn't make your face look cakey. Also, as it is a HD powder, you don't have to worry about it flashing back in photos. The under setting powder is the perfect solution to setting your concealer to prevent it from creasing and moving throughout the day. The powder comes in the colour 'sheer', which is a very pale pink which has very slight specks of glitter to brighten up your under eye area. I love using these products to set my makeup on a day to day basis!

Brows. I feel like 2013 was the year of the brows, and I definitely hopped on the bandwagon! I have a love/hate relationship with my brows but no matter what, I always fill them in and to do that I've been using the BH Cosmetics Flawless Brow Trio. Before this product, I always stuck to my Rimmel London brow pencil but it never really worked too well for me, I don't know why I didn't result to powder in the first place. So yes, I definitely prefer powder over a pencil as it is less harsh and a lot easier to work with. I have the trio in the shade medium as I have have dark brown hair and it is recommended to fill in your brows with a product that is one to two shades lighter than your hair colour. The palette includes a brown brow wax, which I use before applying the powder to make it stick better, a lighter brown powder, which I use to fill in my brows, and a darker brown powder, which is good for accentuating the arch of your brow. It also come with a double ended mini brush but I prefer to use an angled liner brush and a spooly instead. This product is only around $7 Australian on the BH Cosmetics website but international shipping is around $50 if you buy more than one product, in which I did when I bought the trio.. Not the most affordable shipping options BH! This Flawless Brow Trio is simple and easy to use for an everyday look.

In my everyday routine, I tend to keep my eye makeup pretty simple as I usually don't have a lot of time in the mornings before going to work or I don't feel like putting on a lot of eye shadow if I'm just going to run some errands or go shopping. So to keep my eyes simple but still pretty, I opt for a shimmery cream shadow. Cream shadows last a long time, are easy to use and make it look like you've put more effort into your eye look than you really have. My two favourites to use everyday are Benefit's Creaseless Cream Shadow in the shade 'r.s.v.p' (left) and Stila's Smudge Pot in the shade 'kitten' (right), a very popular shade in the makeup world. These two products are both very similar champagne shades, whereas 'r.s.v.p' is more pink toned and 'kitten' is more golden. As for the price, they are both rather affordable and worth the money as cream shadows last a very long time as you never need much of the product to achieve a glamourous price. The smudge pot retails for $32 at the store Mecca Cosmetica in Australia and the creaseless cream shadow for $29 at Myer. These two products are a staple in my everyday routine!

Now who can go a day without including mascara in their everyday routine because I know that I can't!  When I don't wear mascara I feel like my eyes are naked and need some clothes! Mascara opens up your eyes and adds definition. I can guarantee that you that if a makeup lover was asked "if you could only use one product for the rest of you life, what would it be?" most would answer mascara, it's that good! Recently, my everyday mascaras have been Covergirl's new 'flamed out' mascara, and Jordana's 'best lash extreme volumising mascara'. I'm the type of person who can if they like a mascara by the first stroke of the brush through the lashes, and these two passed the test. For over a year, I had been stuck on Maybelline's 'great lash lots of lashes' mascara so it was hard for me to find one that compared.  I don't use these two mascara's together, I alternate between them day to day. I also love them for different reasons. The Covergirl mascara gives me lots of volume whereas the Jordana mascara lengthens and separates my lashes. I couldn't go a day without these mascara's!

Two more of my everyday products are blush and a highlighter. Blush brings colour back into your skin after applying foundation and concealer and highlighter accentuates your best features. I don't just have one blush for everyday, I use an entire palette. BH Cosmetics holds the well loved, '10 Colour Glamourous Blush Palette' which is the product I like to use on my cheeks. Of course I don't use every colour in the palette everyday but I do like to switch the colours up depending on how I'm feeling that day. In my opinion, every makeup lover should invest one of these palettes as it provides you with a great selection of pigmented blushes in just one palette and it is super affordable too, being cheaper than the price of one high end blush! My favourite highlighter to use everyday is my MAC Mineralise Skin Finish in the shade 'Porcelain Pink'. This was the first MAC product that I ever bought and I still love it just as much as when I first bought it! Unfortunately this MSF was in a limited edition collection and is not available anymore. This highlighter is a beautiful shimmery pale pink with gold reflects throughout, perfect for pale skinned people, being why I bought it over the popular MSF, 'Soft & Gentle'. I apply this product everyday to the tops of my cheekbones, down my nose and on my cupids bow for a beautiful highlighted look!

"My lipgloss be cool, my lipgloss be poppin'" No? Okay.. No matter what time of the day it is, no matter the weather, I always need to have some product on my lips. Whether it's lip balm, lipstick, lipgloss, something has to be on them. I like to some sort of colour, or sheen to my lips to keep them from looking dehydrated and chapped. I feel like lip products are something that you can have fun with, something you can switch up to keep your everyday makeup looking interesting so that why I have a few different products to share with you! Recently, I have been really into nude lips and to achieve the perfect nude combo I use NYX's Retractable Lip Liner in the shade 'Nude' and also their Butter Gloss in the shade 'Tiramisu'. Can we just talk about the NYX Butter Glosses for a minute. By far the best lip gloss on the market! So creamy, so glossy, not sticky, they smell delicious, I love them! Although I am loving a nude lip, I am still a big fan of bright lips too! My two favourite lipsticks for everyday are MAC's 'ruby woo' and Lime Crime's 'babette'. I've always been a fan of red lips, I just think they look nice with my pale skin and dark hair, and when I discovered 'ruby woo', I fell in love. 'Ruby woo' is a very flattering, true red shade and with it's matte formula, it stays put! Perfect red lipstick? I think so! A few months ago I discovered the brand Lime Crime , known for their crazy coloured lipsticks. While searching the shades I discovered the colour 'babette', a beautiful peachy pink. I love rocking this colour during the summertime as it is bright, hydrating, and fun to wear!

This brings my everyday makeup products to an end! I have really enjoyed sharing them with you and I hope you have also enjoyed finding out what products I love and use during my everyday makeup routine!

Review: Bondi Sands Self Tan ☼

It's the middle of summer here in Australia and once again my skin is the usual sun reflective, blinding, pale. I don't tan. Never have, never will. There's been multiple occasions where people have said to me, "What do you mean you don't tan? Everybody tans", well unfortunately for me I burn, peel and go pale again, which is strange because everyone else in my family tans.. Maybe I'm adopted.. Mum? So this summer, I decided to branch out and invest in some self tanner.

While I was in my local priceline (a pharmacy here in Australia and a makeup lovers dream) I wandered down the self tan aisle and saw the brand 'Bondi Sands', a newer self tan brand on the market. 'Bondi Sands' is an Australian made brand and the products include a light and a dark tanning foam, a light and dark tanning lotion, a light and dark instant tan, a tanning mist and a gradual tanning milk. I decided to pick up the dark formula of the tanning foam and the gradual tanning milk. All of these products range from $15 to $20 which is rather affordable compared to other self tan brands. I have fallen head over heels for these products so keep on reading to find out why!

First off, 'Bondi Sands' self tanning foam in dark. I loooove this product! I opted for the foam and the dark formula opposed to the lotion and the lighter formula as the self tanner I had tried before this brand was a lotion and a lighter formula and I just did not like it at all. Not only does this foam give you the perfect shade of bronze, but also has the most amazing smell. All of the products in the brand (excluding the tanning milk) contain a yummy coconut scent which is a major positive as most self tanners have that distinct self tan smell, which is kind of like.. nice dirt.

For the best results, I like to apply my self tanner with a tanning mitt. 'Bondi Sands' does have a mitt specifically to their brand, but I bought mine from Kmart for only $5 and it is just as good in my opinion. The product itself comes out of the pump as a dark brown colour with a hint of green as most self tanners do. The colour of the product may look a bit daunting to my fellow pale people but I promise you that once the product is worked into the skin, the product transform into the most perfect golden colour, suitable for both pale and darker skin tones. 'Bondi Sands' claims that this product applies evenly and is streak free and I completely agree with these points. All you are left with after applying this product is a beautiful, glowing tan!

The other product I picked up from the range was the gradual tanning milk. This product is meant for everyday use as a moisturiser that gradual builds up a glowing tan. However, I don't use this product for the gradual tan effect. I love the tanning milk paired with the tanning foam! Using this product with the foam moisturises my skin to increase the longevity of my tan (an essential step when self tanning!) and also tops up the colour of my tan once it starts to fade.

The product comes out of the pump looking like a typical moisturiser, a white creamy looking lotion. The tanning milk is the exception to the statement coconut scent that 'Bondi Sands' has acquired throughout their products with this product having a cocoa butter smell. I really like the cocoa butter and it lingers on your skin for a while after applied which is nice. It almost smells just like the beach which ties in with the name 'Bondi Sands'. The milk hydrates my skin extremely well and since using it my skin hasn't once felt dry.

As shown in the above picture, this is roughly the shade of bronze that I achieved from using these two products which I am extremely happy with considering that my natural skin is almost transparent. I really recommend this brand to anyone who is looking for the perfect tan that looks like you have come straight off the beach! 'Bondi Sands' has really impressed me and satisfied all of my tanning needs. I will happily continue to repurchase these products and even try out a few more of the products from the range! :)

So why did I make this blog? Well I've always wanted to make a blog and a YouTube channel showcasing my love for the beauty and fashion industry in particular, but procrastination and self doubt always got in the way.
